The Belle City Winter Warmer Homebrew Competition is an AHA & BJCP sanctioned competition open to any amateur home brewer age 21 or older.
The competition will be limited to 200 entries.
Entries in Belgian Specialty, Wood-Aged, and Specialty categories should have a base style included in this competition, or be otherwise justifiably strong or winter themed.
All mailed entries must be received at the mailing location by the entry deadline - please allow for shipping time.
All entries will be picked up from drop-off locations on the day of their deadline. Please note specific deadlines for each drop-off location.
2 bottles, ideally 12-16oz, should be submitted per entry.
Under no circumstances will walk-in entries be allowed.
All entries must be handcrafted products, containing ingredients available to the general public, and made using private equipment by hobbyist brewers (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or Brew on Premises operations, supplies, etc.).
The Belle City Homebrewers, Pepi's Barr & Grill or any of the competition drop off locations are not responsible for mis-categorized entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrived damaged.
The Belle City Homebrewers reserves the right to combine styles for judging and to restructure awards as needed depending upon the quantity and quality of entries. All possible efforts will be made to combine or group similar styles. Combined or grouped entries will be judged according to the style they were originally entered in.
Qualified judging of all entries is the primary goal of our event. Judges will evaluate and score each entry. The average of the scores will rank each entry in its category. Each flight will have at least one BJCP judge.
Disclosure of Special Ingredients is REQUIRED for categories 16E, 21B, 22C, 23A.
Recipes are not required. Should an entrant provide their recipe they will retain the rights to it.
Categories with a small number of entries may be combined at the discretion of the competition organizers.
The Best of Show judging will be determined by a panel of senior level BJCP judges based on a second judging of the top winners.
Bottles will not be returned to entrants for any reason.
All entries become the property of the Belle City Winter Warmer Homebrew Competition.
